Daymond John
Sitting atop the fashion world isn’t easy, but you wouldn’t know by looking at Daymond John. As the CEO and president of FUBU, John has turned selling a few hats out of his home in Hollis, Queens, into an empire that includes not only, the FUBU collection, but several other popular labels, like Heatherette, DrunknMunky, Crown Holder and the hood classic Coogi. As an entrepeneur-turned-mogul, John wears many hats. As an author, he wrote Display of Power: How FUBU Changed a World of Fashion, Branding and Lifestyle, an inspirational and triumphant story about his come up from “the dizzying street corners” to “dazzling corner offices.” Not one to shy away from dabbling in other interests, John has also directed music videos for artists including Fat Joe, Slim Thug, Akon and most recently Gucci Mane’s “Freaky Gurl.” He has also imparted his breadth of experience on CNBC’s Big Idea with Donny Deutsch and MSNBC’s Your Business. Even when overwhelmed by constant demands, his sense of duty doesn’t stop: enter Stealth Branding, a marketing consulting company. Daymond John is simply one of the hardest working men in Hip-Hop.
