Will.i.am

High-ranking as the president’s go-to guy within the Hip-Hop community, the master behind the success of the Black Eyed Peas made 2008 the year to go political. Beside his normal production duties for artists like Flo Rida, Estelle and Usher, the multi-talented artist, who also worked with Michael Jackson, threw his support behind Barack Obama early, releasing “Yes We Can” after the New Hampshire presidential primary in January of ‘08. The song went on to win an Emmy for New Approaches in Daytime Entertainment. Will.i.am remained consistent, following up with “We Are the Ones.” After seeing the president safely elected, he continued to expand his entertainment game by co-starring in the 2009 summer blockbuster X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
